Getting started with the Skew-T log (p) Diagram Recording
Thermodynamic charts such as the Skew-T log (p) diagram are one of the best kept secrets in aviation. It represents one of the most versatile aviation weather power tools available to pilots if you know how unlock its secrets. Specifically, the Skew-T allows the pilot to "drill down" over a particular location to identify or describe adverse weather better in time and space than any other single weather chart. This includes icing potential, cloud bases, cloud tops, turbulence, haze, mountain wave potential, thunderstorm potential, precipitation type, cloud type, fog and low visibility just to name a few.
This webinar is a beginner's class on the Skew-T diagram and will provide an overview on how to leverage NOAA's found at http://rucsoundings.noaa.gov. will learn how to assess (in)stability, stratus cloud bases and tops, freezing level,
This webinar will cover a subset of the topics found in the more comprehensive Mastering the Skew-T Diagram premium workshop found on AvWxWorkshops.com.
This webinar was recorded from a four hour live webinar held in May 2019.
