Below are the release notes for EZWxBrief™ version 2.9.0
Added an Airframe Icing layer to the Map that is the same forecast found on the ICE Meteogram and ICE Route Profile views.
Added a Turbulence layer to the Map that is the same forecast found on the TURB Meteogram and TURB Route Profile views.
Added a 6-hour QPF to the NDFD Weather layer that represents the amount of precipitation expected to reach the surface over a six hour period. This QPF includes the liquid equivalent amount for snow and ice.
Enhanced the Points Labels layer that are rendered over the various NDFD Weather layers on the Map to minimize flashing that was occurring as the EZDeparture Advisor™ was advanced.
Added the ability to delete route of flight waypoints on the Map by pressing on the waypoint marker.
Added the ability to edit the active route through a drag and drop action to change the departure or destination airport or other route of flight waypoint directly on the Map.
Added a Winds Aloft layer to the Map that contains a Barbs and Particles attribute that includes a terrain mask.
Added surface analysis fronts, troughs and high and low pressure centers to the Frontal Analysis layer on the Map.
Improved the speed at which Imagery collections load and are rendered.
Corrected a bug that was causing a redirect to the wrong imagery collection whenever an imagery collection was discontinued within the app.
Fixed an issue that was showing the Base Map and Layer selector menus under the Skew-T diagram whenever the Skew-T Flight mode was active.
Fixed a bug that was rendering a question mark icon for the TAFs Weather layer for light rain showers.
Fixed an issue where "No Significant Weather" in a TAF was showing a question mark icon for the TAF marker Weather layer and not the proper clouds icon.
Changed the opacity of the Map legends to match the associated layer opacity.
Discontinued the G-AIRMETs and SIGMETs static imagery collections given they are presented directly as a layer on the Map.
Discontinued the Turbulence and Icing static imagery collections given they are presented directly as a layer on the Map.
Changed the color of the County Warning Area Base Map to have better visibility on the Street, Topo and Terrain maps.
Fixed an issue that was not rendering a TAF wind speed marker for calm winds.
Corrected a problem that was causing the Imagery menu to scroll up unnecessarily.
Changed the way imagery is being rendered in the Imagery view to avoid having blurry images for some collections.
Squashed a number of smaller bugs and made other under-the-hood enhancements to make the platform more stable and responsive.
Given that EZWxBrief is designed to run as a progressive web app, there's nothing you need to do. If open, just close the app and new releases are seamless and become available the next time you restart the app.
