Q. What does AvWx Training stand for?
A. AvWx Training stands for "Aviation Weather Training." It's the live training website for EZWxBrief, your best online source for aviation weather & education!
Q. Why join AvWx Training?
A. AvWx Training does not require a subscription or membership although you can join our community. You do NOT need to join but by joining this community you will be sent notifications of new blog posts, you will be allowed to comment on blog posts as well as mange your one-on-one training sessions that you have purchased.
Q. How is it different from EZWxBrief?
Unlike EZWxBrief, which is an affordable progressive web application elegantly designed to blend supplemental weather guidance with the pilot’s personal weather minimums, AvWx Training was created to provide a live training component to include one-on-one online training and live webinars. AvWx Training also hosts a blog to provide some additional (useful) content and to announce live webinars and other important information including EZWxBrief release notes and monthly EZNewsletters.
Q. Do I have to become a member of EZWxBrief to schedule online training?
A. No. AvWx Training does not require a membership to EZWxBrief.com. If you are interested in attending a live webinar, purchasing a recorded webinar or booking a one-on-one online training session with Dr. Scott Dennstaedt, simply visit those sections and purchase.
Q. I purchased one hour of online training. How do I know if my day and time is confirmed?
A. You will receive an email confirmation with the date and time of your session; if you create an account on the AvWx Training website you can see all of your bookings. Once logged in click on the blue profile icon in the upper-right corner of the site to show a drop down list. Choose My Bookings to see all of your online training sessions.
Q. How do the one-on-one online training session work? How do I get the online details for my session?
A. AvWx Training uses Zoom™ for all online training sessions and live webinars. Zoom™ is an online meeting, desktop sharing, and video conferencing software package that enables the user to meet with other computer users, customers, clients or colleagues via the Internet in real time. Your online session confirmation will be sent in a separate email (normally within 24 hours) and will have instructions on how to join the session. A few minutes prior to the session start time, please click on the link in this email and it will connect you to the online session. It may require you to download software prior to joining the session.
Q. What kind of computer do I need to participate in an online session?
A. For the best experience, please use a desktop or laptop computer (Windows or Mac). Although you can download the Zoom™ app on your portable device, we don't recommend this option. We use Zoom™ for all one-on-one online sessions and live webinars which runs within any Internet web browser. You can use your computer or phone's built-in microphone and speakers, for the best experience and to cut down on echoes we recommend that you use a headset.
Q. Can training be conducted in sessions less than 30 minutes?
A. At this time online sessions are only offered in 30 and 60 minute increments. There is an option to book a free 15 minute session that is strictly used for new EZWxBrief members to provide a basic overview or introduction to get started with EZWxBrief. It is not intended to be used for any other aviation weather training or briefing for a specific proposed route of flight.
Q. What do I do if I need to cancel my session?
A. We do not offer refunds for online training, but we will be happy to assist you with re-scheduling your training session. If you create an account on the AvWx Training website, you do have the ability to change the time of your session.
Q. Are evening or weekend training sessions available?
A. One-on-one online training sessions should be scheduled during our normal business hours of 9am to 5pm eastern time. We can however, by special request, accommodate sessions in the evening and on weekends in some instances. If you need to schedule a session outside of our normal business hours, please contact us with the date and time you would like to schedule and what your training goals are. In most cases, we will do our best to schedule a session that will work for you, but understand that we do not have the capability to support last minute requests.
Q. Can I use previously purchased online training hours to purchase other products or services?
A. No. Any online training hours must be used for that purpose only and cannot be used to pay for other products or services. Online training hours cannot be sold or transferred to another person or organization.
Q. Do online training hours expire?
A. Yes. Any online training hours purchased expire one (1) month from the time of purchase. Unused online training hours cannot be carried over and will be forfeited.
Q. Can I transfer, sell or give online training hours to another person?
A. No. Any online training hours you may have on your account with AvWx Training can never be transferred, sold or assigned to anyone else. We are sorry, but at this time we cannot offer refunds of online training hours purchased.
Q. If I'm a member of EZWxBrief.com, is there a discount?
A. No, at this time there isn't a discount for one-on-one online training or live/recorded webinars. AvWx Training operates independently of EZWxBrief.com.
Q. How do I pay for my one-on-one online training session or webinar?
A. You can conveniently pay using your own PayPal account or by major credit card (currently we only accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover).
Q. Can I purchase more than one hour of one-on-one training at a time?
A. No, at this time you can only purchase a single session (30 or 60 minute) with each transaction. This is done so you can book your preferred day and time with each hour purchased. Additional hours purchased each require a separate payment transaction.
Q. Do I need a PayPal account to pay for my one-on-one training or live webinar?
A. No, you can check out as a guest and pay by credit card.
Q. Can I get a refund for any products or services including memberships?
A. No. All sales are final. We would like to hear from you, however. Send us an email explaining any issues or concerns you have and we will do what we can to make you a satisfied customer.
